Founded in 1910, Landscape Architecture Magazine (LAM) is the monthly magazine of the American Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA). It is the magazine of record for the landscape architecture profession in North America, reaching more than 60,000 readers who plan and design projects valued at more than $140 billion each year. EDITORIAL

Jennifer Reut, Editor
Jennifer Reut started at Landscape Architecture Magazine as an associate editor in 2013, and was elevated to editor in 2020. In addition to editing the magazine for 10 years, she has written many feature articles on a range of subjects, including “The River Beneath the River,” on the cleanup of the Anacostia River in Washington, D.C., for which she won an EXCEL award for feature writing. In addition to her role as editor, she is working with the ASLA team on content strategy and digital transformation for the 2025 website launch. Reut has a master’s and a doctorate in architectural history from the University of Virginia, and she began her education at Hampshire College, where she obtained a BA in American history and literature.

Chris McGee, Art Director
Chris McGee has been LAM’s art director since September 2008. He was the magazine’s design associate from 1995 to 1998, and served as art director for two Economist Group publications, Traffic World and Air Cargo World in Washington, D.C. He also spent four years in Chicago, where he was art director of a number of health care publications in both Chicago and Milwaukee.

Leah Ghazarian, Managing Editor
Leah Ghazarian manages the flow of stories and art among the magazine’s writers, editors, copy chief, and art director. She also writes and edits for the magazine. Prior to joining the LAM staff in 2020, she was the senior associate editor of design for Custom Home, Builder, and Architect magazines. Earlier in her career, she coordinated communications for an architecture firm in Los Angeles.

Kristen Mastroianni, Senior Graphic Designer
Kristen Mastroianni has been with LAM full time since January 2023. She brings years of publication design experience and was previously the art director for Legal Times, a preeminent weekly publication in Washington, D.C. Her freelance work has included designing national magazines as well as creating advertising and marketing campaigns for small businesses and associations. At LAM, Kristen also edits the GOODS column.

Lisa Schultz, Copy Chief
Lisa Schultz is the copy chief for LAM and is responsible for copyediting and fact-checking the magazine and website. Before coming to ASLA in 2006, she worked on the copy desk at Legal Times and as a freelance publications consultant for labor union and nonprofit clients. She has a BA in English with a concentration in writing from West Virginia University.
