Journal introduction:

The editorial objective of the Revue d'histoire moderne & contemporaine is to contribute to the dissemination of recent historical research carried out in France and abroad on the modern and contemporary worlds (16th-20th centuries). Its specificity lies in the ongoing dialogue it has established between the modern and contemporary periods. It strives to avoid reductive compartmentalization, integrating the contributions of the most recent work without jargon or esotericism. It runs counter to a certain tendency towards hyper-specialization, which splits up knowledge and compartmentalizes perspectives: the objective of synthesis remains a condition for the intelligibility of the past
